Business Networking….with a difference
On March 18, 2017, the Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore (IIMB) Alumni Association‘s Delhi chapter organized a ‘Networking Meet’. Reputed professionals from different business sectors were invited to discuss trends and mentor young professionals in each.
FORCE Trust was the non-profit partner for the event. In the run-up to World Water Day 2017, we used the opportunity to reach out
to the IIMB alumni with our message that each one must do what he can to save water. Jyoti Sharma, an IIMB alumnus and President FORCE, shared a presentation (click here to see presentation) how water is one of the biggest global & business risks but also a huge business opportunity. By introducing water efficient processes in industries/ organizations, innovating with entrepreneurial water efficient solutions, creating public policy that creates triggers water efficiency, helping non profits fill the g
aps in water wisdom and by being water wise in our personal life, we can contribute to avoiding this crisis (click here to read a brief note on the issue). The alumni donated their time for a discussion on how they could help create a water efficient eco-system. Click here to see some of their interesting quotes ! Some alumni also donated funds for the cause.
The event was unique in another way – it broke the silos of business &non-business. Management professionals did not just discuss business in this networking event. With help from FORCE and FORCE Trust volunteers, each mentor also discussed his/her sector’s connect with water and shared ideas on how efficiency could be improved. What’s more alumni serving in the Government discussed public policy – both with reference to business and water.
